A Long Shot…

Another mail I got when I arrived this evening – if there’s anything you can do to help mail me at rick@2fm.ie The man has fairly immaculate taste in music…

Hi Rick,

My boyfriend works as a DJ in No.4 Dame Lane and in Anseo on Wexford Street. On Sunday night he left a box of 45s (a little hand held silver box that held about 100 records) in the back of a taxi in Rathmines. He is tearing his hair out as this collection took him years to build up and although it wouldn’t be valuable to anyone else it is extremely valuable to him.

If you could mention this on your show he would be so grateful as this box is terribly important to him.

Here are some of the records that were in it –

Visage – fade to grey
Eric B & Radkim – Paid in full
Beats international – Dub be good to me
Johnny Cash – Folsum prison blues
David Bowie – Ashes to ashes, Jean Jeanie, Man who sold the world, Sound & vision, Young Americans
Freestyle label – JazzJuice – Bosa Nova (Gerry in shop)
Republic of loose – Comeback Girl (Gerry in shop)
Tom Tom Club – Wordy rappinghood, Genius of love Double A side (Gerry in shop)
Ian Brown – FEAR, Dolphins were monkeys
Ian Dury & the BlockHeads – Hit me with your rhythm stick
Joe Jackson – Is she really going out with him
Ike & Tina Turner – Nutbush, Bold soul sister
Dave Brubeck with Carmen Rae – Take Five
Marlena Shaw – California Soul
Jackie Wilson – Higher & Higher
Depeche mode – Enjoy the silence
Rolling stones – Paint it black, Start me up
The clash – A town called Malice, Stand by me
The Buzzcocks – Why can’t I touch it
UB Forty – Food for thought
The Police – Roxanne(blue vinyl), Don’t stand so close to me
Happy Mondays – Kinky afro, Step on
Prince – 1999/Alphabet street

Thanks very much,
Georgina
