A genuine classic, and I love that cover. It’s often mentioned in the same breath as Huxley’s Brave New World, but I’ll recommend a different book in case you haven’t read it: We by Yevgeny Zamyatin. It’s another dystopian masterpiece, though lighter in tone than 1984 (and written a couple of decades earlier). Orwell himself admitted to its influence.

One of my all time favourite reads. Great colours on that cover. I tend to lump this with Fatherland by Robert Harris in my mental book shelf, a great book that might also be worth a read.
One I enjoyed many, many years ago. Never read again though…
