Seven Courses Of Pig…

Imagine if someone asks would you fancy being a part of a seven course pig-themed dinner.

Yes. Yes please.

Therefore, thank you SO much to everyone at the brilliant UpDn Events for their invite to Homage To The Pig last night in town. They operate pop-up restaurants once a month or so in different venues, themed and, having been to one now, incredible to be a part of…

Firstly, the colouration on this pic dosn’t do it justice as it was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever eaten – a pork miso soup with pork itself, a dumpling and 2 different kinds of mushroom. Salty deliciousness…

Pulled pork slider, anyone?

Or maybe a rare breed pork chop with marmite butter, apple, chorizo, butternut cannelloni, black pudding, quince…

Maybe not for you? How about one of our 2 desserts…

Sad to say for someone who likes new food experiences as much as I do but I’ve never done a tasting menu like this before. Definitely would again. The guys at UpDn did a brilliant job last night, each course was more mouthwatering than the last, it was BYOB (always welcome when you’re on a budget!)

They have another one on Dec 16th. You can mail kate@updn.ie for details…
