  1. Dear Mr O’Shea,

You are invited to join us on 26 October 2017 at the James Joyce Centre from 6.30pm for the launch of BLOODROOT, the debut collection of poetry by Annemarie Ni Churreain. BLOODROOT is being launched by Doire Press with support from the Arts Council of Ireland.

“In this remarkable debut collection, Ní Churreain bears witness to the lived experiences of women, including those Irish women who for too long have been overlooked and silenced; women like Ann Lovett, Joanne Hayes, and the many nameless, disregarded women who lived lives of imprisonment within Irish Institutions; women whose stories are haunted by the ever present spectre of the patriarchal Irish State. Ní Churreain’s poems both captivate and challenge” –Dr. Sinéad Kennedy, Department of English, Maynooth University. Secretary of Coalition to Repeal the Eighth Amendment

“A work of muscle and grit, of vision and clarity, Bloodroot is truly exceptional. Among the strongest debut collections of the decade” –Doireann Ní Ghríofa

Annemarie is a Donegal poet based in Dublin. She has been awarded prestigious literary fellowships by Jack Kerouac House (Florida), Akademie Schloss Solitude (Germany), Hawthornden Castle (Scotland). In 2016, she was awarded a Next Generation Artists Award by President Michael D. Higgins on behalf of the Arts Council of Ireland. She is a co-founder of the Upstart collective and a member of the Writers In Prisons Scheme.

Annemarie is now available for interview, and BLOODROOT is available in print and as a pdf for review. Should you be interested in covering the launch or the book, please drop me an email for further information.

If you would like, I can send you a Press Release, E-Invite and Publicity Images (bio pic and book jacket) on request. Please let me know if you would like any additional information. We would be delighted to speak with you.
