2nd July 2008:
O2 today announced that it has negotiated Ireland’s first ever music venue naming rights deal with Live Nation, one of the biggest live entertainment promoters in the world, at the redeveloped Point Theatre in Dublin’s Docklands. The new venue, to be renamed The O2, represents a significant investment by O2 and Live Nation over a multi-year term in what is a unique marketing partnership. The O2 opens its doors to the public in December 2008.

“The O2”?! Lame.
Isn’t that what they called the “Millennium Dome” in London? Isn’t it now “The O2” also?
Live nation is beginning to frighten me! and i’m serious about that. i dont know why… but it terrifies me for some reason.
There is definitely a O2 in London: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_O2
Good for the both of them. It gives 2 users first preference on some shows. Why not?
What the bloody hell? It’ll always be The Point to me.
I’m with Anna. No one is going to know where the hell you’re talking about if you say ‘They’re playing in the O2’ anyway. Besides, it’s a shit name.
It’s The Point Depot. Always.
