He’s the British sculptor who created the amazing Angel Of The North in Gateshead, the Another Place installation of 100 metal figures on Crosby beach and the Field room of 40,000 tiny terracotta figures…
I saw a documentary a couple of weeks ago on Channel 4 about his current installation in the Hayward Gallery in London called Blind Light. It consists of, amongst other things, Cybermen style figures on the tops of surrounding buildings, a giant metal cube form representation of a cast of his body and a white room full of steam that you can get lost in.
Complete insane genius.

The man’s work is legendary. It’s true.
Although as one of my mates suggested, the 40,000 terracotta figures would be a fantastic (and pricey) practical joke! Placed outside a bedroom during the night.
The Angel of the North is just amazing. It’s worth booking a cheap Ryanair flight to Newcastle for the day just to see it. Stand beneath it and you just know you’re in the presence of genius.
It’s fantastic to see this side of your personality. You’re more than just a pretty face!
