Electric Picnic – you can’t live without it on RTÉ 2fm
Massive Attack, Basement Jaxx, Pet Shop Boys, 2 Many DJs, Damien Rice, David Kitt, The Frames, Super Furry Animals, Groove Armada, The Rags, Mundy, New Order, Hot Chip and Josh Ritter are just a few of the top acts coming to Electric Picnic this September. This three day festival is getting bigger and bigger every year and RTÉ 2fm are in the middle of it all!
Some of our DJs including Dan Hegarty, Damien McCaul, Cormac Battle, Mr. Spring will be bringing listeners live music over the course of the three days beginning on Friday 1st September right up until midnight on Sunday 3rd September. This exciting line up will not only be covered on our regular FM channel but also on our special RTÉ 2fm Electric Webnic channel. This is basically a second radio channel on www.rte/2fm with undiluted live music and cool low key vibes from Mark McCabe, Mr Spring, Conor G and Cormac Battle! Coverage begins on Friday when Rick O’Shea will bring inserts from Dan and Jenny at the Picnic and then full live coverage with Cormac Battle and Damien McCaul until miDnight.
Ireland’s only boutique festival, which has grown quickly from an alternative day-out to a 3-day festival and is an absolute must for music lovers. Live music from four stages (The Main stage, Electric Arena, Crawdaddy and Bodytonic dance ) means music, music, music, music galore, so tune in to RTÉ 2fm whether you’re in your car, in work, stuck at home or simply can’t make the music event of the summer then don’t miss out and listen in to 90 – 92fm.

“The Picnic is about music and that’s what the RTÉ 2fm coverage is about – and because we have so much really hot music that we just can’t squeeze onto just one radio channel, we have a second one- just on the web this time. It’s the first time in Ireland that anybody has presented 2 radio channels from one event. More music, more choice- in fact just much much more! “
