Excitamification

People are getting very excited about this thing tonight:

Mates have been texting me all morning. People who work in the biz, old friends, people who I haven’t heard from in months! One very dear friend even gave me her lucky dollar bill.

Thanks to everyone but I was second last in the bookies betting and they don’t make a living out of being wrong 🙂 Maybe there’s an element of having done this for 14 years now and never having won any of these things, maybe there’s the belief that in order to win you would have to have campaigned hard (which I didn’t), maybe it would be surreal to beat people of the stature I’m up against but it ain gon’ happen. I get to present one tonight and that’s honour enough for me.

That doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the votes and the lovely thoughts, I very much do!

Hmmmmm….I wonder who you could mean there! Best of luck Rick.

  3. Thanks Una and Jazzbiscuit.

Don’t mean anyone in particular Joe, really. Just that the nature of these things is the more times you talk about it, the more people vote and the greater chance you have of winning! I may be just a touch too lazy for that…

maybe you’re a touch too humble for that, me thinks.

    Me, Joe?

    Well, I won.

But Richard was without doubt the most gracious in defeat, and most generous with his JP hip flask in my hour of need.

    xx

  6. Jesus Raymondo, how were you even capable of typing at 4.31am after the state you were in when I left?

And ixnay on the ipflask hay. As long as we weren’t caught on TV, we’re grand. Wouldn’t want to look like alcoholics now.

Darragh, same here. Weird the way a fluffy badge becomes akin to a masonic handshake even in the impossibly surreal surroundings of Krystle nightclub…

  7. Really good to see to dj’s from competitor radio stations getting along. Fair play guys. Well done to Ray and maybe your turn will come next year Rick.

  8. typo with my own name, How embarrassing, if Foley can manage to post at 4.30 am without any mistakes (well besides the JP and JD gag), that really makes me look bad.
