Meet The Show…

OK, sorry…

All my spare time this week really has been taken up with stuff for the new show because once midnight tomorrow hits than I’m gone for 2 weeks and my first day back is the first day of the new show – July 31st.

So what can I tell you? The regular show is 6 to 9pm Monday to Thursday (we’ll be doing Ireland’s Official Top 40 Friday evening from 6). There’ll be all the music we normally play on the existing show that seems to go down well, lots of new music (first wherever possible!), bands chatting in studio and on the phone from the UK and US, we’ll be covering new movies, announcing gigs, doing DVDs, console games, websites, blogs, festivals, TV, running pointless yet somehow compelling competitions and covering pretty much anything that might vaguely interest you.

Mostly though it will be you. Yes, actually you 🙂 Your texts, calls, ideas, problems, needs, loves, hates, passions, confessions, whatever…

Text 087 7720000, call 1850 715 922, mail rick@2fm.ie anytime from 6 to 9. That simple.

The crew are the best I could possibly have hoped for – Dave’s current producer Joan Torsney is staying on to try and whip me in to some sort of shape, former Fanning show researcher Amanda Fennelly is coming back from her stint on TY Radio to rope all the info together and act as our “out there in the real world” reporter and general movie know-it-all and, when she comes back from her usual summer engagement as 2FM’s festival helper-to-put-it-all-togetherer, Helen Cullen will be our broadcast assistant. Really couldn’t have asked for better 🙂

Here we are below accepting our seals of office from the boss…

Shouldn’t have smiled when the rest of them were all trying to look moody and pouty. Arse.

The rest will all become apparent after we get going (for that read – “Haven’t got a clue but we’ll improvise as we go on and hope it all works out in the end!”)

One thing I can promise you is that it’ll be fun and bloody entertaining every night. Not like radio normally is then 🙂
