Pinch me…

The thought has occured to me that I’ve strayed from the original brief of the blog (a kind of behind the scenes thing for the breakfast show) ever so slightly… So to end the 4th week of the new gig here’s a thought:

There isn’t a day that doesn’t go by when I don’t think how lucky I am. I get to hang around with one of my mates for 3 hours a day, play songs that I love (and conversely don’t have to play songs I hate as I did for many years in commercial radio), give away trips to Australia, those gold dust Springsteen tickets, 8 grand kitchen makeovers, rattle on about Tommy Cooper gags, The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, Liverpool FC, the papers, what I watched on telly last night, how good or bad the coffee is and anything else that comes into my head at any given random moment…

And I get to work alongside giants I grew up listening to; the Gerry Ryans, Larry Gogans and Dave Fannings of this world.

I’ve had a few of those “pinch me” moments over the week – one thing I will never be about this rollercoaster ride is complacent…
