Pint Of Science?

I am honoured to have been asked to MC one of the nights of the Pint Of Science Festival in Dublin this May.

What’s it about?

As they say themselves:

Pint of Science is a festival that aims to make science accessible and fun by bringing current scientific research to the welcoming atmosphere of the pub. It is a non-profit organisation established by a group of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in 2012.

The 2014 festival takes place over three days (19th-21st May) across the 4 Dublin pubs; The Stag’s Head, Odessa, 4 Dame Lane & Mercantile.

I’m doing the Wednesday night in the Mercantile and it’s all about physics.

Prof. Valeria Nicolosi from TCD give a talk entitled “The Wonderful World of Nanomaterials… It’s a Small, Small World!”, Dr. David McKeown from UCD will be speaking about research on the control of spacecraft and Prof. Mauro Ferreira of Trinity will give talk entitled “Isaac Newton walks into a gym…”
