1. now… presumably the pilot knew he was coming in at right angles to the runway so why the hell did he try to land without aborting the landing sooner? Boggles the mind.

   Endangering hundreds of lives much?

9. Bollocks! All pilots will crab into the wind when it’s quartering like that.It’s not at all obvious when you’re in the back. A sharp gust could have exceeded the planes crosswind component (max wind speed recommended by the manufacturer)and force the go around.

   Or so the captain told me after he changed his trousers.
