The bit where I apologise again…

Yeah, I know, bit of a recurring theme this one but 6 weeks in this breakfast show thing is officially becoming hard work for Ruth and I (surprise, surprise!)

This week alone we have the 3 Star Wars, win €20,000 and Brazil related competitions running, Johnny Logan on the show tomorrow, Ronan Keating on Monday, we were in the Athlone studios on Tuesday and visited a couple of schools afterwards, I produce Untitled on Wednesday (welcome back from Australia David!), had to head over to Hasbro’s secret toy room of mystery somewhere in the centre of Dublin to collect my new Darth Vader Mask and lightsaber (Sweeeeeeeet!), have production and playlist meetings, organise all of next weeks stuff and continue to pack for the move….

In case I haven’t mentioned this before (the oul memory a bit hazy as it’s been so long since I blogged!) I’ve been living the fine country life in Kildare with my family for the last year but the grand experiment is over and we move back to the rat race of the big city at the end of the month. Shame really as we really like where we’re living, it’s great for my kids but just utterly impractical when all of our friends, family and my work is in Dublin. It wasn’t so bad before breakfast came along but now with the commute being 45 mins (even at that time of the morning) I’m up at 4am five days a week. As anyone who’s ever worked an early shift anywhere will tell you they’d kill their own mother for an extra 5 minutes in bed when the snooze button goes off and thus, in the spirit of family harmony….

My 15th move in the 12 years since I left home…

Don’t ask…
