The 9 Beers Of (Close To) Christmas

Posted

So. I’ve tried a few more new beers… First off I should stress I don’t really drink a lot of porters. This one deserves your attention. Not only because it’s from Blackstairs who make their wonderful Ruby Red IPA, but because it has a hint of ginger at the end and is as spicy as feck. Lovely stuff. Also new is this from Mountain Man. It’s a San Diego IPA and by far the best beer they’ve made. Managed to get around to the rest of the lovely 8 Degrees Xmas beers. The Double Irish is delicious but very alcoholly and lethal, […]

I’ve Been Drinking My Craft Beer Wrong…

So, here are the latest craft beers I’ve given a go to that you might like too… I’ve spoken along and often to anyone who will listen about just how great 8 Begrees from Cork are. Their Simcoe, Howling Gale and The Full Irish are among my favourite Irish beers. Never tried Amber Ella before, dud so recently and it goes in the same list. Also they have 3 seasonals out. The Dubbel is delish, the other 2 are in the fridge…     Fair play to Blackrock Cellar for the glass; apparently I haven’t been drinking my Brewdogs properly… While the […]

Brewdog genuinely don’t make a bad beer, do they? Had all of these over the last while and they vary from great to spectacular. Ever the lager! I normally hate lagers… As for the Mountain Man Brewing guys, their labels have as much effort put into the as one presumes the beer does too… And other stuff that came my way recently, including the stash McGargles and Dungarvan sent into the office. I’ll convert the guys I work with yet.     Oh yeah, I’m on Untappd these days too if you have the app… https://untappd.com/user/rickoshea/

A Few Craft Beers To Start November With…

I know, if you read these posts without getting the timeline, that I must appear a terrible alcoholic when it comes to craft beer. I’m just a guy who likes to try new things when I come across them and these are all thing from the last while. Things I’ve tried and liked recently include:   Then there’s these three. Each in their own way is very much head an shoulders above the norm and worth making an effort to seek out. The Modus Hoperandi is Beer Of The Month at Blackrock Cellar at the moment. Had this recently at Bull & […]

Craft Beer Roadtrips

Well, technically I was there for work, but if you can’t squeeze in a little pleasure along the way… First things first – we ended up in Franciscan Well in Cork as part of the radio show a couple of weeks ago. Great spot, nice guys, well worth the wander down the quays if you’re there…               Have to admit that while I was down there the finest thing I had was this little gem. Find it if you can… Spotted this too, they were only opening the following week but menu and beers looked interesting. […]
